Managing Director, Founder

Our firm’s Managing Director brings over 25 years ERISA experience dealing with Plan Sponsors and retirement plans. Previously, he was a Vice President with Fidelity Institutional Retirement Services Company where he was responsible for their Southeast Institutional retirement business. 

Jim holds the Accredited Investment Fiduciary™ designation. The AIF® Program graduates are specially trained in investment fiduciary responsibility and portfolio management. He completed the FIIRG Investment Management Institute Training conducted by the Harvard Business School. In addition, he holds a BA in History and a minor in Economics from Hobart College. He also studied at The University of Edinburgh. Jim is a member of the Triangle Benefits Forum and was on the BrightScope Advisory Council. He has worked with CAI, a non-profit employers’ association with over 1,000 member companies, to provide fiduciary training to its membership. In addition, Jim has been an expert speaker on fiduciary issues at the AICPA (American Institute of CPAs) National Benefits Conference. In the past, Jim was a regular financial expert for NBC-17’s “Your Money” segment as well as a resource for and interviewed by PBS FRONTLINE for their in-depth story on 401(k) plans.



Scott is a Director and manages the Comperio sales and relationship efforts at our Western Pennsylvania office. He has over 25 years of ERISA experience assisting Plan Sponsors with their defined benefit and 401(k) plans. 

During his career, Scott has held a variety of management-level positions in the retirement divisions of Fidelity Investments, MassMutual Retirement Services and Wachovia Retirement Services. He has consulted with over 200 Plan Sponsors helping to implement customized investment, education and plan design strategies. Scott holds the Certified Employee Benefit Specialist designation (CEBS). Co-sponsored by the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans and the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, the CEBS designation is one of the most respected professional credentials in the employee benefits field. Scott holds a BS in Business Administration from Duquesne University. Scott has also appeared in numerous publications and on KDKA-TV’s Sunday Business Page speaking on retirement related issues.



Director of Investments

Jarrott is the Director of Investments and co-Chair in the Investment Committee.  In this role, he leads investment research and manager due diligence for equity, fixed income, alternative assets, and multi-asset strategies; combines in-house analytics and third-party research in guiding macro-economic forecasts; and oversees asset allocation recommendations.  Prior to joining Comperio, Jarrott provided business valuations and transaction-advisory services to firms in the construction industry.

Jarrott holds an MBA from the University of Cincinnati and a BBA in Financial Services from the University of North Florida.  Additionally, he earned one of the highest distinctions in the investment management profession by becoming a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).  The CFA Program combines a three-part exam (spanning 2-3 years) that tests the fundamentals of investment tools, valuing assets, portfolio management, and wealth planning with four years of industry experience.  Jarrott has also earned charterholder status with the CAIA Association, a global professional body founded by AIMA (Alternative Investment Management Association) and CISDM (Center of International Securities and Derivatives Markets) for knowledge and experience in alternative investments (commodities, hedge funds, real estate, and other private investments).


Vice President of Operations

Brian is Vice President of Operations with Comperio and has over 23 years of ERISA experience where he has worked on both the plan provider and plan sponsor side.

Brian was the Director of Retirement and Stock Administration for a privately-owned auto parts distributor where he was responsible for multiple US and Canadian retirement plans and stock plans that covered over 20,000 employees. Prior to that, Brian worked for a retirement plan provider where he managed the accounting and recordkeeping group. He also served as a Trust Relationship Manager where he assisted clients with plan design, investment reviews and employee meetings. Brian has a Bachelor in Business Administration with a concentration in Trust Management from Campbell University, where he also minored in Financial Planning.
